Caroline de La Rochere

It is upon returning from a trip to Cambodia in 2003, where Caroline first met Marie-France and Christian des Pallieres, the remarkable founders of Pour un sourire d'enfant, that she decided to start a branch of the charity in London. The idea behind For a Child's Smile was to create a fund raising system which would appeal to both the French and English communities as well as to individuals and businesses and institutions. Caroline's background is in communication and events planning in which she worked for ten years in Paris. Today, Caroline is Chairman of For a Child's Smile. Her biggest wish is to see the charity continue to grow in the UK and persist in being a great human adventure for all those involved.

Camille Joly

Camille has been working as a volunteer for FCS for over four years. She was first introduced to the charity through pro bono work whilst working as a corporate lawyer at Allen & Overy.  After having retired from the practice of law in order to spend more time with her children, she took on a more permanent role with the charity. Camille graduated from McGill University with a political science degree and obtained her law degree magna cum laude from Ottawa University Law School. She also holds a post graduate degree in law from New College, Oxford.  Camille is French Canadian and lives in London with her husband and two children.  When not working to raise awareness for the Cambodian cause, she enjoys running and, now that her children are older, she is reacquainting herself with the pleasures of reading.

Anne_ArissAnne Ariss

Anne joined the London FCS team in 2007. She had attended a fundraising evening at the French Embassy during which she saw a film showing the works of FCS. She was moved by the sight of the children working at the dumbsite of Phnom Penh and by the extraordinary achievements of Marie-France and Christian des Pallières, providing food, housing and education, that is, eventually building a new world for these children and giving them a future. Anne met with the London FCS team and decided to give time to help with fundraising events.

Anne was born and raised in Paris where she read Law and Russian. She is married, has three children and has been a Londoner since 1992.

Vong

Val is half Cambodian and half French. Since her father's move back to Cambodia three years ago, Val had returned to the country often and had always looked to help local families. However, she knew that if she wanted to make a bigger impact, she would need help from a more established structure. That is what brought her to attend the screening of For a Child's Smile's work at the French Institute last June. She found the charity's movie so touching, that she immediately knew she had to do something.

Consequently, on her trip to Cambodia this summer, Val went to visit Pour un sourire d'enfant on the outskirts of Phnom Penh and was amazed to see the incredible work Christian and Marie-France des Pallieres have been doing for the past 15 years to save children from poverty, educating them, and providing them with food, health care, love and happiness.  Back in London, Val decided she wanted to be part of this adventure and joined For a Child's Smile, the London arm of Pour un sourire d'enfant. Her aim is to help with further fundraising, organising events and to get more people to know this worthwhile charity. Her ultimate goal is to put more smiles on those lovely little Cambodian faces.

Val is 33 and she is married and has one son. She moved to London from Paris with her sister 12 years ago and together they now own three shops in London.

Catherine Cagni

Catherine left l'Anjou six years ago in order to move to London with her husband and four children. Catherine is a certified nurse by training but she has not worked in this profession for over twenty years. It is her family's passion for travel which brought her to Cambodia two years ago. Once in Phnom Penh, she had the opportunity to share a meal organised by Pour un sourire d'enfant with children working on the rubbish dump. This unforgettable and emotional moment made Catherine want to help this worthy organisation. At FCS, Catherine helps with event organisation (gala dinners, showing of FCS movie at the French Institute) in order to raise funds for the charity.
